Retailers Who #GiveAdventure - III

Retailers Who #GiveAdventure - III

This week, learn how four retailers give the gift of adventure. Each one does it in a very special way, but the unifying factor between them is Love. Loving the community around them, loving the nature around them, and loving the visitors who find their way to these destinations. Here at Kammok we enjoy partnering with companies that are passionate about serving and adventure, which is why we are happy to partner with Pack Rat, Ouachita Outdoors, Sunrift Adventures, and Glorieta Camps.

PACK RAT  // FAYETTEVILLE, AR

Pack Rat in the winter.

Pack Rat in the winter.

Pack Rat is known for their unique look. When you walk in you are immediately struck with the feeling that you have been transferred to a different time and place, a place reminiscent of a snowy-wintery day in the mountains.  Similar to the cozy ski lodge feel on the outside, the inside is full of warm-welcoming employees ready to make you feel at home while they teach you about their products and story.

Pack Rat gives adventure by dedicating their time and money to local, national, and worldwide conservations efforts. They believe this will ensure that future generations have wild lands to enjoy, to inspire, and to use as a tool for good health and recreation. Their values are reflected in their actions: their store is made from repurposed wood that was salvaged from a local forest fire, and they recently installed solar panels to create a carbon negative footprint and feed energy back into the grid.

They also host fun events like Pint Night. This event raises money by selling pint glasses to support local non-profits such as the Buffalo River Foundation, Ozark Highlands Trail Association, Beaver Watershed Alliance, Arkansas Canoe Club, and more.

After seeing a need for out-of-town visitors to have a specialty store in Hot Springs, Don Jackson founded Ouachita Outdoors. His vision was to provide a place where vacationing visitors could bond with local adventurers and receive incredible service. Don’s vision became a reality in his store: a place for visitors and locals to learn, exchange ideas, and become inspired.

They shared with us that “...there’s no one way to give adventure. Sometimes it’s as simple as someone buying a hammock, or giving a kid a new set of bearings for his skateboard. Why? We, like the majority of the outdoor community, love sharing our passions. It’s that passion that inspires people to do thing they never thought they could.”

During this Holiday season, Ouachita loves to see their customers become inspired to not only give differently, but to take that first step outside their comfort zone where adventure really begins. If you are just visiting the area, or a local at Hot Springs, be sure to stop by and chat with Ouachita about new exciting ways to adventure and experience nature around you.

Sunrift Adventures is located in a historic cotton gin in downtown Travelers Rest. The store is known by adventurers as the place to stop before experiencing the mountains and lakes in upstate South Carolina. Their mission is to serve the community by facilitating a place for customers to gather and fostering a passion for the outdoors.

This holiday, Sunrift is giving adventure by partnering with the National MS society to host a clinic on different ways for people with MS to get outside. From paddling, to hiking, and cycling, there is room for adventure regardless of the situation. Whether you are looking to stay warm this winter interested in hearing about the latest river conditions, stop on by and see the amazing things they are doing for the Travelers Rest community.

GLORIETA CAMPS // GLORIETA, NM

Nestled in the foothills of the Southern Rockies, Glorieta Camp is a mountainous escape that is perfect for the casual camper, outdoor adventurer, or extreme sport enthusiast. The camp’s mission is to inspire Christ-like change through outdoor adventure, authentic relationships and Biblical truth.

Glorieta Camp’s stores enhance the overall camp experience by providing everything from souvenirs and apparel to hammocks and carabiners for use on the trail. They give adventure to the best of their ability by encouraging others to experience the outdoors, and by showing “what God has given us.”

When the holidays arrive it means fewer guests, and they have time for their team to enjoy adventures of their own in addition to giving time to the international community. It's important for them to rest, recharge, and cast vision for another great year of adventure, relationship and Truth.
